Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary 

August 15th

In 1991, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops offered this decree when certain Holy Days of Obligation (the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God on January 1st, the solemnity of the Assumption of Mary on August 15th and the solemnity of All Saints on November 1st) fall on a Monday or Saturday. Those solemnities remain holy days but the obligation to attend Mass is dispensed. 

This year, the solemnity of the Assumption of Mary falls on Saturday, August 15th. While the obligation to attend Mass is dispensed, we will still celebrate the solemnity of the Assumption of Mary at our regular 7:30am Mass that day.
